There were reported cases of opposition intimidation in Lagos, with several voters prevented from getting to their polling units. Ethnic profiling was also commonplace, and many polling units were invaded and attacked, with voters chased away.
Kano State citizens go to the polls on March 18 to elect a new governor as the outgoing Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s second term ends on May 29.
PDP has dominated the state since the country’s return to democracy. In 1999, Chimaroke Nnamani was elected under the platform of the PDP and governed the state for eight years. He handed over to a fellow party man, Sullivan Chime, who governed the state from 2007 to 2015.
On March 18, 2023, the people of Abia and 27 other states in Nigeria will elect their governors and state houses of assembly lawmakers who will lead them in the next four years.
