N2P: Most Corrupt Sector goes to Nigeria’s Judiciary with ₦9bn worth of bribes
When the very sector that is supposed to uphold truth and justice is labeled as the most corrupt, what is the hope for the country. According to SaharaReporters, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences has indicated that the judicial sector has been the number one in the Nigeria Corruption Index since 2020. The most unexpected (expected) part is that the corruption seems to start from bribery. According to the ICPC, about ₦9 billion was offered as bribes by lawyers to court officials. All of this information was extracted from a report by the agency that was available on Tuesday. The Chairman of ICPC also pointed out that upright demand for bribes are mostly linked to election matters.
