According to data from the Ministry of Education, Nigeria has one of the largest out-of-school children figures globally. The country ranks 5th with 10.19 million out- of-school children. About 34% of the total children population across the 6 geopolitical zones in the country.
The total approved budget to the education sector in the last 7 years is N4.08 trillion. If the 2022 proposed budget is passed and the allocation to the sector is approved, it will bring the total allocation in 8 years to N4.59 trillion.
The Federal government stated that it intends to attract the best brains to the education sector.
